Attention spans have shrunk and consumers are looking for faster ways, more direct ways, to feed their content addiction. Whether it’s dogs, cats, fails or knockouts, consumers want more, more, more. Chances are you’ve seen Speed Society videos creep inside your Facebook feed in the past year. The growth has been tremendous. The social video site — and its many Facebook partners — have, according to Josh, garnered an impressive total of 175 million followers, with 42 Facebook partners helping distribution, in a relatively short amount of time.

This isn’t Kalis’ first attempt at a video-aggregation site, either. Hellaclips has been giving the skateboarding community fresh, aggregated skate content for the last six years, streaming the freshest videos to millions of people. So the idea for an automotive version of Hellaclips came natural to Kalis, who is a self-proclaimed gearhead.

“I’ve been a car dude just as long as I’ve been a skateboarder,” Kalis admits. “I was constantly going on all the car pages — well, actually, it wasn’t even car pages then, it was YouTube. It was hard to find all the street-race videos or shop videos. It was a nightmare. So I thought, ‘Why not make it easy for everyone?’”
