Car Control

A racing game for people more into Cruis’n USA than Gran Turismo, this arcade-style racer has you whipping peppy cars around tracks that are full of impossible jumps and neck-breaking turns. But while steering with your keyboard’s arrow keys takes some getting used to, the real fun is using the game’s simple but option-packed track editor to design your own crazy courses. Now, can you do that on your SEGA? PAUL SEMEL

Real talk, this is one of the worst racing games ever. Instead of driving in circles really fast, all these big rigs and mid-’80s Camaros do is turn into gigantic robots that beat the crap out of each other. Sure, they race from fight to fight, but only so they can punch, shoot, or whack each other with street lamps when they get there. PS
