House of Kolor Bringing Shimmer to SEMA

Paint maker's new system offers ridiculous levels of customization.

House of Kolor and the Valspar Automotive Group are bringing the big guns to SEMA this year, pulling the wraps off a whole new paint system they’re calling Shirmin2. While it’s compliant with all VOC restrictions, Shirmin2 offers 17 base colors along with 39 effect packs. They’re also busting out an all-new series of six mixable foundation colors known as the KD3000 Series Kustom DTS (Direct to Surface) Foundation Surfacer/Sealers, and a new clearcoat called USC01 Kosmic Urethane Show Klear.

Of course, talk is cheap, so Valspar will have a wide variety of vehicles and other unconventional canvases covered with the work of airbrush artists. We’ll be sure to check it out when we hit up SEMA next week. [Thanks to Valspar Automotive Group]

Press Release:

House of Kolor, Valspar Automotive Group – SEMA Highlights 2010

The Valspar Automotive Group (Booth #23013, Central Hall) is prepared to turn the industry upside down at this year’s SEMA show, Nov. 2-5, 2010, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. You’ve seen our booth in the past; you’ve seen our crazy custom vehicles, you’ve taken a tour
through our House of Kolor Surf Shop, you’ve seen the inaugural Hall of Fame class, you’ve met our expert custom painters while they were doing live demos, and a few of you have gotten a real scarab tattoo during the show. But, you’ve never seen anything like you will this year. House of Kolor is changing the face of custom painting this year with our revolutionary new product lines. The 2010 SEMA show will be all about “shimmer” – and shimmer we will with 1000’s of new color offerings, delivered in the industry’s biggest technological advancement since the
candy paint job: Shirmin2®, our new Universally VOC Compliant basecoat/effect pac system. Shimrin2® is a solvent-based system which, when mixed, will create a VOC compliant finish regardless of current VOC restrictions. The Shimrin2® product line consists of 17 basecoat colors and 39
effect pacs, offering its users unlimited custom color options. Shimrin2® is the answer true custom painters have been looking for, and a major leap forward, but we’re not stopping there. House of Kolor also unleashes the KD3000 Series Kustom DTS (Direct to Surface) Foundation Surfacer/Sealers,
available in 6 fac pack colors that can be easily mixed to produce the perfect foundation for your show car! The rebuild team dressed the Charger with Shimrin2® products exclusively from top to bottom to make this American icon shine. Be sure to visit the ARMO Hall of Fame to catch all the action.

House of Kolor will have plenty of new product offerings and amazing custom toys to show off at this year’s SEMAshow, but it doesn’t stop there.
