Don’t let the bullet holes of Syndicate Automotive Concept’s logo mislead you. These West coast OGs will take you down to the ground, but it’s a hit you’ll roll away from looking better than when you started. Though holed-up in a well-armed, 22,000-square-foot workshop equipped to chop anything, their real specialty is the art of the drop. Syndicate’s unconventional, almost obscene suspension techniques push the limits of riding low. Located in San Diego, the
shop caters mostly to those stuntin’ on the smooth Cali streets, but has developed a nationwide clientele list just the same. Whether it’s a classic Six-Four or a dealer-fresh Benz, Syndicate will accept any project new or old—and while the shop prides itself on innovation and their one-offs, one thing remains constant across projects: if it rolls off their shop fl oor, it’s gonna be dumped!
To those that frequent the shop, it’s no surprise to see a freshly dressed ride drive onto the streets with its rear bumper millimeters from the ground. Resident suspension expert David Chappelle (no, not the funny guy) is trained in everything from bags to lifts, and confi dently states, “We can make our customers low-riders, rock climbers or even cars that do both.” Anyone willing to take them up on that dare?
