Second-generation ’Maros (1970–’81) suffer from middle-child syndrome. Hardly are they found fetching the big dollars of their older brothers (1967–’69) on the auction block, nor did they ever achieve the respect that the third-generation (1982–’92) Camaros did. Truth is, the second go-round Camaro has historically been a faint blip on the custom-car radar. But with the recent popularity of Bumble Bee’s second-gen facade in Transformers, coupled with the long-awaited debut of the version five, the buzz surrounding the Camaro moniker has indisputably been revived. And with plenty of suitable starter rides out there for under $10K, the ’70–’81s might have found a new home within the big-wheel scene…
