Lincoln didn’t become one of the most recognizable names in American luxury by building trucks, but instant hits like the Navigator and LT made the label’s new forays more than welcome additions to their segments. Now, some years later, the diamond-in-the-back brand is attempting to corner the crossover market with the appropriately named MKT. In typical Lincoln fashion, this new three-row vehicle is a wolf in people’s clothing—fancy people, no less. Get behind the wheel of its snarling yet polished grille and it’s meant to feel like your living room on wheels. Truth told, your living room probably doesn’t come close to containing this amount of leather and high-tactile-quality trim, and it probably ain’t harnessed up to a 355hp, twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6, either. Okay, so the EcoBoost V6 doesn’t come standard, but paired with all-wheel drive, paddle shifters and V8 performance at V6 fuel economy, it’s really the only way to go. Saving the planet never looked or felt so good. – WILLIE G.
