The End Is Nigh?

German state implements Autobahn speed limit

If people know nothing else of modern-day Germany, they know the Autobahn- the unrestricted highway that’ll let you put the pedal to the metal at no risk of a ticket. In actuality, a few short stretches of the road have had speed regulations for years – but now, the city of Bremen has become the first state to introduce speed limits on all its Autobahn stretches.Though only 37 miles total, the new law marks a victory for Germany’s budding Green Party (Die Grunen) which opposes the highway’s unrestricted speeds. Luckily, German Chancellor Angela Merkel still opposes a national speed limit. Have a high-speed run on your bucket list? You might want to go cross that one off sooner than later just to be safe. Source: Autoblog
