BMW to produce CS-Concept for 2010

Hold on to them 7-Series rhymes, fellas- in a mere two years, BMW’s current flagship won’t have that top billin’ it’s carried for so long. 2010 is now the scheduled date for release of its new “4-door coupe” sedan, the Gran Turismo. Automotive News recently spoke with former M engineer, Gerhard Richter, who’s been appointed to choose design elements from the CS Concept – which debuted at last year’s Shanghai auto show. The Gran Turismo will weigh-in above the 7-series, in classification and size. Longer and wider, power is likely to come from either a V8 or V12 powerplant. Worldwide production is expected to run around 15,000 units annually, at an estimated cost of $150,000. Keep in mind these photos are still of the concept, but if Richter does his job right, they should be a good indication of what’s to come!Source: Automotive News, subscription required
