'Melody Road' plays song when driven on. Where else but Japan?

Home of all-too-real robots and $300 sneakers, you might think the island nation of Japan was out to take over the world in some twisted, but colorful way. Well we ain’t saying they’re not, but here’s some proof that they’re at least having some fun along the way.

Similar to the way in which US “rumble strips” awake drowsy drivers, Japan’s Melody Road treats travellers to a tune when cars pass over the various strategically-placed grooves in its pavement. Peep the video- it might not be an ass-shaker in the traditional sense, but it’ll move ya!
