Semis are scary enough to automobiles, let alone wheelchairs. So when a trucker fails to see your two-wheeler crossing the street, you might as well bend over and kiss your ass goodbye… unless your guardian angel is working a double-shift. Luckily, that was the case today for a wheelchair-bound Paw Paw, Michigan man. State police first balked when calls came in claiming a tractor trailer was pushing a wheelchair down the Red Arrow Highway- but when they didn’t stop, they rushed to the scene. Luckily by then, the driver had stopped.
Apparently, the driver did not see the man crossing the road and collided with the chair in a way that aligned the wheels forward and jammed the handlebars into the truck’s grill. Not knowing he was even there, the driver kept on truckin’ until motorists flagged him down & made him pull over. Miraculously, nobody was hurt… although the man did spill his soda.
When asked to comment on the situation, the victim replied, (and we quote) “It was quite a ride.”
