Since RIDES named the old-school Wrangler as one of the top-10 cars from the “pre-money” Hip-Hop days, its modern day offering has started to gain a lot more appeal in the urban market. Though we’d like to be able to take credit on some “way they reminisce” vibe, the truth is Jeep’s been making power moves- and continues the climb back up with their “Wrangler Ultimate”, set to be displayed at SEMA 2007.
Lifted up 3″ from standard height, the 4-door platform comes with standard 18″ Alcoa wheels and 35″ BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires. Outfitted with seemingly the entire Mopar accesory catalog (fuel filler door, taillamp guards, side steps, hood hinges, etc) the Wrangler Ultimate takes on a more rugged look and feel that somewhat echoes the Hummer H3. But the beauty ain’t just skin deep- inside, the wrangler is hooked up with an amount of leather, woodgrain, and aluminum trim that the Jeep has never seen.
Don’t call it a comeback just yet- there’s no word on when the upgrade package will be made available… but it’s good to see a legend return in such a big way.
