On December 11, 2013, Hennessey Performance founder, John Hennessey, broke 200mph in his 700 HP C7 Corvette on a closed section of Highway 99. In addition to becoming the first C7 to break the 200MPH mark, the Texas Department of Transportation also used the opportunity to test their toll road RFID system. Be careful if you plan on hitting 200MPH on Texas Highways in the future, Hennessey says that the system was able to read his license plate at high speed.
