Taking cues from Bauhaus design, the 2015 C-Class introduces a new touchpad which operates like a cellphone; a new fighter-jet inspired head-up display; and interior aesthetics influenced from the F800 concept car.

Since mostly everything can be controlled via Touchpad, the center console is void of unnecessary buttons and switches. Though where there are switches, they feel very high-end, like that of a exotic sports car.

The C-Class only touchpad will eventually be on every Mercedes in the US, as for right now it's going to be on every C-Class sold on US soil. It is also intelligent enough to know whether you are trying to use the functions via Touchpad or just resting your hand.

New metal switchgear for seats add a sense of luxury to the newly designed seat adjustment buttons. Even in preproduction form, the buttons felt solid and befitting of a Mercedes, even though the C-Class will not go up in price.

After quite a long time, there looks to be another leader in the luxury interior world. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class makes a serious move towards the front where Audi has been leading, though after seeing the new interior from Mercedes, Audi’s helm seems drab, boring and predictable.

Though the car was not unveiled in its entirety, the new C-Class interior was revealed in Stuttgart, Germany to show the Benz’s revamped cabin with new head-up display, innovative touchpad and world-class materials. Following the Bauhaus design philosophy, the interior is also modeled after ‘Sensual Purity’ and takes cues from the human body amongst others.

Along with AIR-BALANCE—Mercedes’ bespoke system which ionizes air and fragrances (as found in the all-new S-Class)—the new C-Class also has an air condition system linked via satellite (yes, a space satellite) that automatically stops incoming air and uses the recirculation program once it senses upcoming tunnels. Welcome to the future.
