Jeep Creates A Build-Your-Own Pickup Kit

Turn your four-door Wrangler into a workhorse.

If you’ve been looking for ways to trick out your Jeep Wrangler (and don’t bother trying to top our photographer Andrew Link’s Jeep game—it’s untouchable), the crew at Mopar have a suggestion for you: turn it into a pickup truck with the JK-8 Independence conversion kit.

The kit includes pretty much everything you’d need to turn your Wrangler Unlimited into a 21st Century Scrambler: body panels, a new bulkhead, a new roof, and of course, the bed floor itself. As you can see by the fully-functional prototype above and below, the kit won’t keep you from playing around with the rest of the Jeep—this example runs a Mopar/Dynatrac ProRock 44 front axle, a 4.5 inch long-arm suspension kit, off-road bumpers, 4.88 gearing and 37-inch BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM2 tires. All those changes won’t keep it off the trails, either…
