Outside of the obvious being rear wheel drive, you’ve got two excellent platforms to chose from. The 4 cylinder turbo is a tuner’s dream car; and then there’s what I like to call the more sophisticated version, the 3.8 liter V6. It’s effectively the current day Nissan 240. What makes the car so great in addition to its fundamentals is the price point. Comparably, if you were going to build a drift car from scratch, you’d pay $5,000 for a shell, then buy an engine, wire harness, transmission, clutch, suspension and limited slip. At the end of the day, you’d have spent $25,000. Now, you can go to your local Hyundai dealer and buy a car that’s got all brand new pieces, a 100,000 mile warranty and the same horsepower for the same price.
