If, like us at RIDES, you happen to be a resident of the Big Apple (or even just the tri-state area—we’ve got love for Jersey and Connecticut, too!), we suggest you mark August 6th on your calendars; that’s the date of Big Boy Entertainment’s 2011 Custom Car, Truck and Bike Show. The show will be taking place on Randall’s Island, better known to locals as “that island below the Triborough Bridge.” Big Sean will be performing; there’ll be celebrity guest appearances, giveaways, other sorts of entertainment—and, of course, plenty of custom rides to scope out.

If that wasn’t enough reason to go, some of the proceeds from the event will go to the New York Urban league, which is dedicated to helping disadvantaged New Yorkers find a job, find housing, get health care and get better educated. We’ll let you know more closer to the show’s date.
