2007 audi s6

Model tested fsi v10

Picture this: a Lamborghini Gallardo’s heart stuffed into an Audi A6 sedan. Sounds like quite the mash-up. But there’s not a manufacturer in his right mind who would unleash this kind of Frankenstein, right? Well, apparently the Ingolstadt car-maker is choking on that good stuff.

Open the door, sit down and make yaself comfortable in the S6’s cabin; after all, it’s a luxury sedan. The big-bolster seats have an integrated headrest that, while sporty, carry a much richer look than traditional automotive seating. And the optional trim is the perfect mix of luxe and sport. All of the carbon-fiber trim, which usually seems cheap and taped on in many cars, is elegantly trimmed in a satin aluminum. Now check out the MMI info-tainment unit. It controls everything from the radio and navigation to the central locking system preferences—for instance, you can program the car so when you unlock the doors with the key fob, it unlocks all but one, making ya boy look like a fool outside the club. Turn up the system; the Bose Surround Sound is better than most, but doesn’t even begin to compare to the Bang Olufsen system found in the big-brother S8. That shit hits!

After a quick glance of the S6 powered up, you will quickly notice the new light strips in the front bumper. They act as daytime running lamps, but function aside, they are the one thing that really makes the shell of the S6 pop. Interior and exterior aside, the reason you convince yaself (and wifey) that you need the S6 over the A6 is what’s under the hood, so be a man and press the engine start button. The V10 comes to life. Okay, not as alive as it does in the Gallardo, but then again you’re not sitting eight inches in front of it. Plus, as much as you may want to hear it roar, what kind of “luxury” car would that be? So push the go pedal, and in 5.1 seconds you’ll be at 60mph—and it only takes another tap of the paddle shifter to get you to 100, then 120, and so on. Ahh, it’s good to be driving a Lambo…er, Audi!

Interior Perfect—nah, really. From the one-piece seats to the optional carbon and satin aluminum trim, this interior is like The Blueprint. The two piece tear-drop-shaped cluster is a different direction for Audi, but a welcomed one. And even the rear seats feel stylish in this whip, something most sport-sedans can’t ever get right.

Exterior The LED daytime running lights make the S6 stand out from any car on the road. The strip of light just screams fresh. The rest of the front fascia looks mean with its aggressive air inlets and signature Audi waterfall grille and angry eyes.

Floss Factor The colors…for once, a luxury sedan that offers a color palette more exciting than black and silver. Go for the Sprint Blue.

Flaw Factor Turn it up! The S6 shouldn’t sound like a Gallardo, but a little exhaust note would be nice
