Funkmaster forecasts the future.

“It’s going in a couple places. There are certain cars that are going to be good next year. The Charger is one. The Mustang, the BMW 7 series is going to stay hot. The Lexus GS is going to stay good. The Mustang is changing the shape in 2009. The Camaro comes in 2009, and the Challenger comes in 2008. Those are going to be some very influential vehicles. The Skyline coming from Nissan is going to be tough. I think the Ford Fusion and the Cobalt are going to be prominent, because some people gotta stunt on a budget. I also think pickups are hot. I like the F-150s—the Harley-Davidson edition is coming out in purple.

Modifications
There’s always going to be stuff, with the Hondas, Acuras and Lexuses, but the truck is always going to be something you can build.”

Wheels
“Spinners are finished, but Davin is making some other nice stuff. Spokes are kinda finished, too. And as for sizes, 24s are the biggest that should be on a truck. 26s, 28s are finished. Stupid and ridiculous. That’s not where this is at.”

Paint
“Two-tone! Yeah, sporting the different top and different bottom is taking on a life of its own. Everything else is getting kinda played out.”

Interior/Audio
“The designer prints is a done deal. I think the big loud sound systems aren’t flavor anymore, either. It’s nice to have cars that come with TVs, a good sound—and looking like it came from the factory
I think is a nice look for people.”

Performance
“2007 is really going to be about horsepower. More kids are getting into horsepower than before. More kids are into exhaust, superchargers and HEMIs.
I think performance is replacing the whole ‘bling-bling’ attitude.” As told to Brian Miller
