RIDES: Considering you’ve been funkdafied since ’94, your first whip must have been something special.

DA BRAT: Yeah, my first was a fully-loaded ’95 Black BMW M3 with black leather interior and white piping on some BBS rims. It also had a remote-controlled system with
12-inch Kickers, plus it was tinted out. I got that back in ’94, when I signed with JD.

RIDES: Was it the need for speed, or did someone aid in the decision?

DA BRAT: Both. I liked to go fast. Plus, JD had a white one that he called “Cocaine” that had white interior and black piping, so I got mine the reverse of his. Then Kriss Kross got theirs at the same time, so we were tearin’ up them highways.

RIDES: What was the most memorable car moment for that foursome?

DA BRAT: It had to be goin’ to the club! We had the ground effects on our cars in different colors, and we would all put on the same song and crank it, drivin’ like two miles an hour. People would turn around pointing like, “There goes So So Def!”
